Write a story that is a fusion of a favourite fairytale and a favourite or well known Bible story. You might choose to use the plot of one with the characters of another, or play around with the morals, messages or themes in either or both. How does changing a character (even in just name) change the story itself? Is it still recognisable as a fairytale or Bible story? Are you happy with that, or do you want to layer another story on top again? What kinds of stories, messages or ideas can you present through this fusion? Can you find fairytales and Bible stories that are similar in plot or message. Can you take one of each at random and draw parallels between them? What does that tell you about the story/stories or yourself? What happens when characters from one story encounter characters from the other? Where does the story take place – in one of the story’s settings, in a new setting, our own modern world, or somewhere else?
