Newcastle was “lit up blue” this evening for autism awareness. The whole family went along to the “do” in the park, though we didn’t stay long as it was already a long day and the kids had just had enough. There were lots of people there, all wearing blue and enjoying themselves. The girls had their nails painted and we caught up with a few people. It was an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon, even though the noise, crowd and lateness (now that daylight savings has ended) was a bit too much for Gilbert.
It was a good turn out and it was great to catch up with some old friends. I must say I am proud of our boy who really didn’t want to go but let us stay for an hour anyway, despite being irritated by the presence of all his old teachers and therapists…!
