So, after making a rash decision to join my students in NaNoWriMo, I found myself in need of an idea! Many of you sent me suggestions via Twitter, and I thank you! Now, after a long afternoon of thinking, surfing the web (for “research”) and generally looking for inspiration, I have it. Not a complete plot, but a good idea, an elevator pitch and even a cover! I always like putting together a bit of visual inspiration to help get me excited and keep me focused.
Here’s the concept:
Tamed is Red Riding Hood meets The Taming of the Shrew, as told by Heavy Metal Magazine.
It’s not much at this point, but I have more than a few ideas ready. The setting itself is based on an idea I began to flesh out a while ago, so I am not going in completely cold either. Now, off to outline. Wish me luck!

Ok, this sounds like an awesome concept. I love fairy tales and I love Shakespeare, so this is a perfect fit for me. I’d certainly want to read it when it’s finished. This year I’m doing a take on a Korean fairy tale.
Thanks! I think fairytales are such rich ground for exploring interesting ideas and themes. And it is always fun to find ways to bring a new spin to them! 🙂 Let me know how your novel goes.
